Glamping in Yurts
Strawberry Skys Yurts is set in 10 acres of glorious Welsh countryside about 8 miles west of Welshpool. The site looks out across the Cambrian and Berwyn mountains strectching from mid to north Wales and you only need to be here at sunset to understand the name.
Our glamping site is beautifully secluded, yet easily accessible which makes it the perfect spot for your yurt holiday. For a short weekend glamping break this might entail nothing more then a trip to the village for some refreshment and supplies from our local shops and butcher and then back to your yurt for a BBQ. If you're here for a longer glamping holiday, or maybe have the children to entertain you can use our central location as a base for exploring all the sites and activities that Mid & North Wales have to offer. Please see our page "What to do" page for more. But don't feel pressured to go anywhere. Come, relax and get away from it all with nothing more to worry about than lighting the BBQ and keeping the fires going. We fell in love with the land at first sight and believe Strawberry Skys is the perfect location for your glamping or yurt holiday in Wales.
On site we have three traditional Mongolian yurts and an all-wooden yurt we built on site. All the yurts are set quite apart from each other in a gently sloping field with mature cherry and willow trees, so you can enjoy the peacefulness of the site without interruption from other guests. Perhaps more importantly we are a small, low-impact site with only four yurts so you will never feel rushed, or crowded. Each yurt is built on raised wooden platforms, felt lined and heated by a woodburner so the yurts are amazingly warm all year round for the perfect glamping yurt experience. Outside you have your own charcoal BBQ, campfire pit and bench seating. All the wood required can be found in the wood shed at the bottom of the yurt field free of charge and we also supply canvas bags and wheelbarrows for moving it up to your yurt.
Whatever you choose to spend your yurt glamping holidays you can end the day marvelling at the Milky Way and the occasional shooting star, watching the bats and listening to the owls from the comfort of your own camp fire or simply enjoying the gentle lighting and relaxing warmth inside the yurts for the perfect wind-down.
