Other yurt information:
Our traditional yurts (not Ash yurt ) are handmade in Mongolia (where they are called "Gers") and lined with sheep-wool felt so they are extremely warm. All of our yurts are set on raised wooden platforms and heated by a woodburner which makes them extremely warm and cosy even in the coldest weather. Inside, the yurts have wooden double day-beds for sleeping or lounging. Each bed has been hand made for us out of Ash and Beech by local craftsman Nick Over. Our Mongolian yurts are decorated with rugs, coloured wall hangings and scatter cushions, making the interior of each yurt a beautiful space to relax and unwind. tea light lanterns and solar fairy lights provide the lighting in the yurts for a relaxing atmosphere.
Outside, all the yurts have bench seating, picnic table, cast iron BBQ and camp fire-pit. Wheelbarrows and bags are provided for collecting your wood from the woodshed and all your firewood, kindling, tealights/candles and firelighters are offered at no additional cost. Please see our "What to bring" page for more details on the essentials and nice-to-haves.
