Setting up Strawberry Skys Yurts was a complete lifestyle transformation for us. We both lived busy lives working in London which all changed whilst camping at a music festival in 2006 when we realised we didn’t have to return to London at all and decided to try something completely different. We agreed to put our house up for sale as soon as we got home and decided to set up a smallholding and yurt camping site in Wales instead.
With our house on the market, we then embarked on a mammoth journey across Wales, searching the country far and wide for the perfect yurt camping spot that combined outstanding natural beauty with fantastic, welcoming and picturesque nearby towns and villages. When we saw the smallholding near Llanfair Caereinion, Powys, we fell in love instantly, and in November 2007, just over a year after the idea first took root in our imaginations, Strawberry Skys Yurts was born.
Since then, we have not looked back. We love country life and our two sons, who were born since we set up Strawberry Skys Yurts, are enjoying the freedom of being able to play and explore the beautiful countryside and coastline of Wales.
We are passionate about yurts and yurt holidays, and love welcoming guests to Strawberry Skys Yurts. In fact, over a third of the guests we welcome back are returning visitors who and it is both an honour and privelege to see them again and in many cases meet new additions as we see families growing over the years.
We look forward to welcoming you soon.

Strawberry Skys Yurts is set on a 10-acre smallholding, which is home to sheep, chickens and sometimes pigs. Each spring, newborn lambs can be seen in the fields, playing in the sun, and the friendly dogs Milla and Buffy are often around to welcome guests.
Our traditional Mongolian yurts are simple but elegant, offering guests unique glamping holidays that combine the simplicity of rustic outdoor living with the comforts of modern life. Our yurts are heated by woodburners, so they are warm and cosy all year round, and all yurts have a campstove and outdoor barbecue so guests can enjoy authentic, outdoor cooking or take a walk into nearby Llanfair Caereinion, which boasts a wine bar and three pubs.
Our yurt camping site, near Welshpool, Powys, is easily accessible from the Midlands, Cheshire, Liverpool, the Wirral, Lincolnshire, Cambridgeshire, Bristol and South Wales.
